Vancouver Island

What a great long weekend! I was planning on painting around Redmond, but Pooja invited me to go on a road trip, and I happily agreed. Thus,  I went to Vancouver Island with my friends Pooja and Vishal. They were gracious enough to give me some time amid the sightseeing and driving and hiking to pick up my gear and do some plein air painting.

The Ucluelet/Tofino area is a lovely area, there are so many dramatic views and scenery. Definitely a place I'd like to go back to.

Often, I join up with the Plein Air Washington guys, who I can't thank enough for organizing these paint outs. Through them, I have met many outstanding artists who inspire me to get better with my art.

I sometimes feel envious of my friends who are full time artists. The world is their office, and looking at beautiful things is part of their job. I love writing code as much as I love painting, and I'm sure I'm better at code than at art. So I'm thankful that I have work that I enjoy. But on these sunny days, I look out the window and wish...
